Marchand is being held on a $75,000 bond after being arrested in St. Augustine, Florida on charges of child pornography and soliciting a 13 year old. Marchand is known as the owner of “My World Through A Windshield”, a social media account that gained notoriety during the COVID lockdowns.
You never know who someone truly is
Marchand is a native of Ottawa, Canada. He had been seen on TV as a figurehead for truckers working during the COVID era. He documented his travels across North America as truck stops closed down their diners and even washroom facilities.
Marchand was also known for helping stranded travelers in Virginia after a freak snowstorm closed I-95. He was awarded numerous safety and Highway Angel Awards for his assistance.
He was arrested after soliciting a supposed 13-year-old (who was actually an undercover detective for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department).
Marchand was arrested after “picture trading” and asking for photos of “specific body areas.” When asked by media outlet OttawaCitizen.com, on what specific chat room was used, the detective would not comment due to the “continuing investigation.”
All of Marchand’s social media accounts were sealed, most likely as evidence in the case. He had over 8,000 followers on his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts with over 18,000 posts.
The charges he was arrested on are third-degree felonies in Florida and carry a maximum sentence of five years and $10,000 fines, but formal charges have not been filed in court by the state attorney. No court date has been set as of publishing.
This is a developing story and BTU will be following it for its readers and provide updates as they are available.
