Wait time at food distributors outpaces seaports

Seaports have added 24 minutes in wait time over the past two weeks but still can’t overtake food distributors on the SONAR Time Suck O’Meter.

The SONAR dashboard has a heat map showing us wait time in color. The lighter colors actually indicate more wait time. Head to blue for faster service.

SONAR has wait times by market, industry, railheads, and ports.

At least the seaports can hang their hat on supply chain disruptions. At 134 minutes of average wait time across the country for seaports, the industry is still faster than food distributors, which average 136 minutes. At food distributors, a 136-minute wait is like fast food.

And if you need more time than that, haul a load to a food distributor in Shreveport, Louisiana, where the wait time is 157 minutes!

That’s enough time to have a crawfish boil, take a nap, and have another crawfish boil before unloading.

34 years in this industry. I've learned a few things. There is always a way to screw up a shipment, always. Vacations are just remote work. Never pass up a bathroom. Conferences are marathons, not sprints. Your word and integrity are your greatest assets. Oh, and not everyone likes the Circle Jerks. Peace and Love.
