According to WFMZ.com, local police have levied charges against Anthony Dick, of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, for the August 24 fire at the Estes Express Terminal in Lehighton. The fire partially damaged the facility and it is currently closed and under repair.
This is an update to the article BackTheTruckUp published last week.
No word if the previous fire was connected to the August 24 incident
When police began their investigation into the fire, which destroyed a trailer and damaged a small area of the building, employees immediately pointed to Dick. He was seen earlier that day putting out a fire in a restroom.
Dick was also seen even earlier the same day putting out a fire in a concealed area. Three fires in one day sounded alarms louder than the sirens on the firetrucks.
When Dick gave police permission to search his belongings, they found an Ozark Trails-branded firesteel and flint camping match. Dick claimed he had been camping earlier and forgot to remove it.
During questioning, Dick’s story flip-flopped, according to reports. He began saying he knew nothing about it to saying he had accidentally backed into a flammable material on a pallet while driving a forklift.
Police have not made an announcement regarding whether Dick is connected to the fire that occured two weeks prior to the current incident. He is scheduled for a court hearing on September 7.
