Back on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6:40 a.m. on the southbound truck route between the 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway in the Newhall Pass near Santa Clarita, California, a tractor-trailer had slid off an unprotected area of an overpass and landed on top of a black SUV. Police were on scene, already having removed the drivers of the truck and SUV when the unthinkable happened.
Yes, a second truck slipped off the overpass near the same spot. Recent rains had made the area slippery and it was presumably the cause of the first truck’s rollover, according to comments made by police online.
In total, three people were injured in both incidents according to KTLA News. Only one was sent to a nearby medical center. No drivers have been charged so far.
