On Feb. 22, TA held the formal ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new dine-in restaurant concept, Fork & Compass, at its Petro Stopping Center in Perrysburg, Ohio. The truck stop is located off the Ohio Turnpike at Exit 71 and is north of the interchange at 26416 Baker Road.
The Fork and Compass restaurants aspire to bring back the pre-COVID sit-down dining experience at truck stops. All dine-in facilities were closed during the pandemic as part of national safety campaigns.
The locations will have an updated menu, along with some new and interesting meal choices by the Cleveland Clinic. These healthy options are designed to address the epidemic of obesity, diabetes, and cardiac health issues in modern trucking.
In a press release, TA says that “The Fork & Compass concept was created to provide a reimagined experience for professional drivers, motorists, and local residents. Designed to be a destination spot for the community, the restaurant has unique food options for all ages in a family-friendly atmosphere.”
“The new design layout fosters a relaxing environment with various seating options, including booths, counter seats, a large community table for family and friends to gather, or a more intimate setting for two near the ‘fireplace.’ Most seats have electrical outlets for those wishing to work or play.”
The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. Have a look at the new menu at this link.
TA is currently undergoing acquisition by BP, which you can read about in this article.
