Ever heard of someone stunt driving a big rig? Neither had I, until this morning. The Ontario Provincial Police arrested a 38-year-old male from Bramton, Ontario, Thursday morning after he allegedly stole a Volvo sleeper truck.
Never heard of someone hood surfing a Volvo before?
While details are scarce, what we know is the thief stole the truck and began a brief chase with police. With help from aerial units, the truck was tracked along Highway 401 in the Cambridge area.
The chase ended in Waterdown, where the driver wedged the truck against a building. The suspect then fled on foot; K9 units were deployed to track him, and he was apprehended without incident.
The unnamed suspect was charged with dangerous driving, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from police, failing to stop, and stunt driving.
This is a developing story.
