I don’t know about you, but I am excited about the possibilities of the Artemis program. NASA leading the charge to go back to the moon and stay there is awesome.
Maybe my daughter will be a space trucker. Yes, a space trucker. A top priority is to start mining and building on the moon. Got to have trucks! Space trucks!
It’s not like we aren’t going to need another planet to screw…uhm, I mean, exploit, I mean, destroy, hell you know what I mean.
The MEME “Time to leave Earth” is only half funny to me at times. There are so many things that require humanity to come together in order to save this planet and war is still an option?
Think about that for just a moment. We are still forcing innocent people to get killed for…hell, I can’t think of the reason it is so stupid. And, don’t tell me the reason and try and justify it; it’s stupid.
AB5 is not impairing interstate commerce and is destroying the very people it claims to be helping (who never asked for the “help”). Meanwhile, tolls for trucks in Rhode Island are not legal?
I know truckers don’t like that, but every toll road has different costs for trucks and cars, etc. EVERY ONE. So let’s kill this one and raise the tax on fuel? Here’s a secret…the government (federal, state, county or city) are going to get the money.
No restrooms for truckers, no parking for truckers, let’s strip mine for rare earth metals to make batteries and pretend it’s better than a pipeline. Well at least the strip mining isn’t in my backyard! (little shout out to the NIMBYs!) Thank God for that, or we might be in trouble again during the next pandemic as we become completely reliant on a third-world country to supply us with essential metals.
Have I seen this movie?
Oh, yeah – Artemis. Aerospace America reports on Gateway and how it is a “critical component” of the program. A space station orbiting the moon. Coordinating travel to and from the lunar surface and eventually beyond.
The potential is this will be functioning in 2024. The two main elements to be developed are the power and propulsion element and the HALO or habitation and logistics outpost.
Sweet! I was a terminal manager in LTL and managed several container freight stations. I think HALO manager has a better ring to it. Imagine space freighters full of ore and lithium crystals. Or think of the bar scene in Star Wars.
Cool stuff, if we can work together. The light-hearted mention of Star Wars was foreshadowing for my concern and the concern of others is that we are taking our problems with us into space.
NASA is going green in every way possible and I applaud the agency for that. However, will we be civil to each other in space as we stake our claims across the solar system and beyond like the wild West land grabs?
I think I saw this cartoon once….you?
Peace and Love.
