Auburn, Washington was the scene of a rollover incident that could have gone far worse than it did due to the actions of a brave Marine Corps veteran and other good Samaritans. A truck pulling a rail container was taking the ramp to Highway 167 off of Highway 18 and rolled onto the driver’s side. When South King Fire and Rescue arrived, the truck was in flames. That’s when the unnamed Marine and others rushed in to help get the driver out of the rig. The driver is in critical condition, but alive thanks to those efforts. Twitter reports say some of the rescuers also were burned but not as severely as the driver. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Scary but heroic ending to this crash on the WB 18 ramp to NB 167. @Southkingfire & @wspd2pio were dispatched for a rollover crash on the ramp with a semi on fire. After the crash happened a good samaritan actually pulled the driver out of the semi as it was engulfed in flames. pic.twitter.com/D5QedaIjpF
