ICYMI: Scale boss shames tow truck; are brew drivers “sampling” the goods?; Trevor Milton blames dog influencers…

Another week goes by and we scrape the bottom of the news barrel for one last news go-around

After yet another exhausting week of hard-hitting news coverage, it’s time to get the ol’ paint scraper and see what’s stuck to the bottom of the media barrel that we might have missed.

Georgia scale boss lets loose on a illegal tow truck operator

Being a tow truck driver is not an easy job. There’s a whole list of regulations to go with recovering and hauling disabled vehicles. Well, the scalemaster at a weigh station on I-75 had enough of this repeat offender and dropped the hammer on social media.

The scale master discovered the driver of the tow truck had a non-commercial drivers license and had been cited twice for no medical card. The compact tow truck was found to be hauling nearly 36,000 pounds over its weight limit!

It was not the type of tow truck to be pulling a fully loaded tractor-trailer. And what’s worse, the trucker was in his truck while it was being towed. I wonder if the tow driver was using COVID as an excuse.

Yet another beer spill in Florida…

Something is up at this brewery in Florida, as we have yet another incident. – Photo: FDOT

Are drivers sampling out of the back of the trailers when they leave the brewery, or do we have a problem with “surge” not being a known factor when drivers pull these trailers? This time the beer was spilled in Hernando County, north of Tampa, Florida (home of an Anheuser-Busch brewery).

A five-vehicle accident was the result of this wreck involving a trailer load of Bud Light cases. The beer truck was in the back of the pileup, which may be the only saving grace.

Southbound I-75 was closed completely from the morning rush until noon as Florida DOT workers cleaned up the scene and removed the wrecked vehicles and beer.

Trevor Milton’s attorneys blame dog influencers for Nikola’s troubles???

Torrey Young: You called Trevor Milton a macro influencer. Isn't it true that there are pets that are macro influencers?
Mayzlin: I don't think a non human can be an influencer.
Torrey Young: But there are accounts associated with pets…

If you thought Trevor Milton, founder and former CEO of Nikola, was a bit crazy, here’s further proof. I caught a bit of the trial against the man who rolled trucks downhill for a living this afternoon and came upon this juicy morsel.

I think Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog, might be offended by this tactic from Torrey Young, Milton’s attorney. Trying to pawn her client’s social media tirades on dog influencers makes no sense.
