Prom, that time of your high school career when you get to dress up, make memories, and often get your first kiss. Well, Lincoln County High School, in Stanford, Kentucky, you absolutely ruined it for one couple.
Lance Reed, a corn-fed Kentucky plowboy, had planned to drive his farm’s Peterbilt, equipped with drop visor, custom lighting, and big chrome bumper. Wearing a sharp jacket, blue jeans, and yellow boutonnière, his mom thought he looked sharp as a tack. Well, the principal had other plans…
You have made me very angry, Mr. Principal…
As you can see in the Twitter post, the principal, Michael Godbey, showed the kind of operation he ran. Apparently, through the Twitter post, the staff wanted a “Manhattan” feel to Lincoln County High’s prom.
Maybe they should look and see how Manhattan, NYC would be doing if Peterbilts were not allowed. My prediction? Three days tops ‘til anarchy.
Well, Mr. Principal, you surely did your school motto of “Spirit, Pride, Tradition” very poorly. You broke the spirit of this poor kid and his date, showed no pride in the economy of Lincoln County, and violated the tradition of “Prom Night” being a celebration before graduation.
And by the way, where is this dress code you speak of? It’s not on the publicly available website. Oh, I’m not done yet. In fact, it’s just getting started…
One does not commit such a party foul and expect the trucking community to just stand by and do nothing, Mr. Principal…
Yeah, the trucking community at large, big quotes around “unity,” has agreed that ya’ll need to be paid a visit. According to fellow trucker @taylorbilt’s Twitter, there’s about to be 300 reasons to apologize to Lance Reed, his date, and the rest of the attendees for making their prom night more about your ideals. Yeah, take that ruler you most likely had making sure the kids weren’t too close, and use it to give yourself some distance from this situation. Make a formal apology to the kids, their families, refund the ticket money, their “formal wear” rentals, and go into solitude until next school term. And if you want to know why I’m so passionate about this, Rooster didn’t get to go to prom!

Why is the world trying so hard to crush the hopes and dreams of any possible future truckers/drivers, don’t they realize that the world would come to a stand still if there were no trucks on the road? The industry is short so many truckers/drivers as it is so why not inform and encourage more people to take an interest in this industry but i guess the government has set a precedence contrary to this and it’s sad. I hope and pray the discouragement the principle set won’t take affect and people will not pay heed to such negativity in any manner. GO TRUCKERS GO!!!!!
