For a Bradenton, Florida family, it has been a difficult week after Carlos Mendoza Herrera and Alondra Lopez Gonzalez lost their lives in a crash on August 16. They leave behind a 6-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son who are now in the care of their aunt.
Herrera and Gonzalez were traveling on I-75 in Fruitville, Florida, near Sarasota, when one of the food truck’s tires had a blow-out. The food truck rolled several times and caught fire. Both lost their lives in the incident.
Several local friends and leaders have stepped up to rally donations to the cause of the children left behind and the aunt who now cares for them. Other food truck operators have launched benefits for the kids and a cousin has launched a highly successful GoFundMe campaign.

Let’s do what we can for these children and help them grieve and not worry about the struggles of daily life without their parents. Please follow the links below to learn more about the story of this family and learn more about how you can help.
