As if the video of the trainer walking next to his truck as it moved in reverse with no one behind the wheel was a sign of things to come, the video below is definitely the sign that we have a major discipline problem in trucking. @TruckHstler posted this video on Instagram before the person believed to have posted it originally locked his account.
What we can glean from this video is that the person sitting on the bunk has no regard for the lives of those on the road as well. As you can tell from the speed the road strips as it passes under the truck, it is not going at a crawl like the previous video was.
Fun Factoid: road passing lane strips are regulated to be a certain length. The strip itself is required to be 10 feet long and the gap between is also regulated to 30 feet. Excellent way to calculate road speeds on videos.
From the tachometer, you can tell the engine is running at near full strength. I’m not an expert on Volvo’s engine or shift patterns, but I’d assume it’s near the speed limit.
I have tried my best to identify the logo on the hat on the dashboard, but can not get a clear view of it. I’d love to find out and call this driver’s company. But I suspect they would hang up on me too, just like the last fool pretending to be a truck driver.
